Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
I don't think Elliott will give a shit what Wade thinks. The Hairy Javelin is certainly a better ODI player than Wade (the format this occurred in), and on current form probably a better keeper too.

I've never seen Elliott keep, by the way.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
No, I am going to say I see the point that Wade (2 Test centuries in 12 Tests ) was making to Elliot (Test average of 10).

Actually, sorry Sven, I'd like to withdraw my last sentence and apologise for it.

If I could rephrase it to "How very Australian of you".

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
So, Sven, you're going to back Wade's, the former Australian cricketer who's never achieved anything, assertion an over after the event, that Elliott was a coward for asking whether caught and bowled were being played?

And Starc, Haddin and Faulkner are all good, because they were aggressive, abusive and in their opponents face?

Says a lot about you as a man Sven, when you've never achieved anything in the game either.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
Im not going on the tv being disrespectful to players that he wasn't fit to polish the boots of. Tell the old nobody to mind his business

Again Wade's point was that Elliot was sledging a player from a safe distance as he was walking off.
Haddin for all his faults told Elliot his fortune right up against his pointy head.

So Elliott wasn't then either?

What was YOUR average in test cricket, by the way Sven?

Or first class cricket?

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
John Morrison ..... Danny's husband?
Or some sad old bloke who averaged 22 in Test cricket

Steve Smith said NZ were the better side but that he thought the process for Marsh's dismissal was handled poorly. Which is a fair summary.
That's the end of the story.
The rest is NZ's slightly odd obsession with other peoples behaviour.

The end result of the way the process was handled would be if any decision was missed by the players on the ground (ie a slight edge or an lbw that was pad/bat) would be for the incident to be played on the big screen while the ground announcer shouts OI UMPIRE HE WAS OUT while setting off a fire alarm until the umpire relents.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
Not sure if this video will work for you or not Sven, but Mystery Morrison, former NZ cricketer sums it all up quite nicely.

https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/sport/cricket/cry-babies-that-are-always-in-womens-weekly-cant-take-their-own-medicine-john-morrison-slams-australia.html

And another one, which has some quite cowardly behaviour

http://tvnz.co.nz/seven-sharp/look-why-australia-suffering-in-its-jocks-video-6446345

As for you suggesting that commenting to retreating batsmen is cowardly, would you agree then that Haddin and Faulkner going at Elliott in the CWC final was cowardly? And Starc asking Santander "what are you looking at cunt?" was cowardly?

If the post - dismissal serve is cowardly, then Australia are the biggest cowards in history.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
Wade's point stands. Squeaking at a retreating batsman is cowardly.

He has however been dropped from the World Cup t20 squad to undergo sledging training under Australia's Sledging Director Brad Haddin. Must do better

Quite like the Aust t20 squad bar the omission of Boyce but not sure how you get in a position where you name a squad of 15 and 3 have never played a t20 international.
I guess too many were given an audition ... Tait , Boland, Lyon, Wade, Lynn, Head but didn't grab it. Some times the best way to get picked is not to play.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
Apparently Elliott said "So we're not playing caught and bowleds in this game then?"

What an awful thing to say.

Deserves to be called a coward after that.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
We have McClenaghan and Santner too, so there must have been someone popular in both countries.

The other example that springs to mind is league players called Beau - Beau Ryan, Beau Champion, Beau Scott, Beau Falloon.

Wtf?

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
I have no idea why the popularity of the name Mitchell in Australia.
Was thinking there must have been a famous Mitchell about 30 years ago as they are all under that age but none comes to mind.
Odd

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
You'll soon be able to field an entire team of Mitchell's and Marsh's.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
He looks a fighter which he will need bowling in t20
He & Boyce look more short form bowlers at the moment.
I think Swepson of Queensland looks a more likely Test leg spinner just now.
That's MITCHELL Swepson which will obviously help his selection chances.

Ha ha yeah I'd forgotten that. Got halfway out to bat and had to go back and get the right handed glove for his pair.

He also looks like a Hitler Youth member.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
The news report I saw said Zampa came out with two left handed gloves. Ha ha
I like him even though he did hit a six to win a game off the last ball to beat the Perth Scorchers a couple of Big Bashes back.
Nice touch to take shirt no.63 in tribute to his S Australian teammate Phil Hughes.

Re: 2nd ODI: South Africa v England at Port Elizabeth
Zampa bowled really well yesterday.

Absolutely shat himself batting though.

Good to see two leggie's bowling well actually.

Ish Sodhi was MoM. Him and Bracewell won the game for us with their bowling spells in the middle there.
